Climbing, jumping, and napping up high are not just your kitty’s random feel-good behaviour, their need to be up high is instinctual. Cats are tree-climbing mammals. Early cats were hunters and many of them lived in the rain forests. Their claws enabled them to climb skillfully, escaping into trees for safety or climbing to lie in wait for prey. Nowadays, cats who live indoors are safer than their outside cousins, but they often become bored and gain weight. There are however ways to avoid it. Vertical territory with perches at different heights inspires cats to jump, climb and leap and then to ideally rest up high so they can keep a watchful eye on their human companions and survey their kingdom from a high vantage point. Absolutely, it was tested to hold 55lbs (25kg). Remember to install the shelf to the wall studs if you have a sheet rock. ➡️ Does the price of the cat shelf include the cushion, the brackets and frame fixings? Yes, it does. What you need to do is to drill two small holes in a wall. The shelf is read to hang. ▶️Can cat shelves be installed on any surface? (Brick, concrete) Yes, the frame fixings included (Fischer DuoPower 10x80S) can be used on any surface. However, we do not recommend installing the shelf on drywall unless there are wall studs behind it. The brackets’ spacing of all our shelves is 16 inches (40.6 cm), which is the standard spacing for wall studs in most of the American houses. ▶️Is the cushion cover removable and washable? The cushion cover can be easily removed and washed in the washing machine at 30°C (approx.°F = 86). Washing instructions are also included inside the cushion cover. ▶️Won't the cushion slip off when the cat jumps on it? The cushions are clipped to the wood with fasteners, made of stainless steel, so the mattress won't slip off when the code is hopped up on the shelf.
